Korea is cold.....

Hey what's going on everybody? Just getting settled in here in Osan, and getting into a groove so to speak. Today is Day 8 of 365, let the countdown begin huh lol....

I am settled into my dorm room for the most part, but I am waiting on my other box with my monitor and external, and software to get here so until then no cable or internet in my room. Hopefully it will get here this week, my cpu got here and in one piece it appears, but I want to ops check it and not having my monitor is driving me crazy.

The gym is 1/4 mile from the dorm so thats cool, bx and library and shoppette are about 1 mile. So wearin out the ole left foot , right foot routine, but hey I got nuthin but time here. The chow hall is also only about a 1/4 mile. The base golf course looksnice but it is covered in snow at the moment, cant wait to get out there and hack it up.

I have met some pretty good folks here in the squadron, and it is a tight knit bunch. So it looks like it is gonna be a pretty good year from a people standpoint. Work is work, although I have not really done much here yet as I am still in processing it seems. It's always something.

Once I get my pc I will be on here at least every few days posting something. Take care.

Concert Review

I wasn't sure what to expect at my first country music concert last night, after growing up in Metal and Hard Rock concerts. But I have to admit it may have been the best concert I have ever been too. Things got kicked off at 7:30 and the concert ended at 11:15, by the time I drove back to Beale it was 1:30 before I hit the rack.

Miranda Lambert kicked things off and played songs from her first album Kerosene. One of the songs she played that was near and dear to my heart was titled "What About Georgia". Miranda is a native of Lindale, Texas and last night it was easy to see that Texas attitude and sound in her music. ( imgage courtesy www.mirandalambert.com )

Tracy Lawrence was up next and was the performer I most wanted to see last night....or so I thought. Tracy has 17 Number 1 Hits in his career, and as he rattled off his set it was easy to see why. He really did a great job of playing to the crowd, and ended his set with a killer performance of " Paint Me A Birmingham". I dont think its a coincidence that all the performers on the ticket hail from the state of Texas, Tracy is a native of Atlanta,Texas.




















Then up next was the Legendary George Strait. I can't even begin to tell you just how good his Ace in the Hole Band played last night, nor how good of a singer and performer he is live. He came on stage at 9:25 and exited the stage at 11:15, they played at least 25 songs I actually lost count. It was cool though he did a little "Folsom Prison Blues" since he was right here close, hearing Strait do Johnny Cash was actually pretty kick ass. The concert was well worth the price of admission, and I recommend you get out there and see this legend perform while he is still doing it, 50 Number 1 Hits speaks for itself ( http://www.georgestrait.com/calendar.asp ) .

Weekly Report

Well as you all know my fantabulous journey to the Korean peninsula has begun via a pit stop here in Northern Cali. The week has been pretty tiring for me, as I have been working out twice a day monday-friday at 5 am and 4 pm. As far as the actual work side of things lets just say it is even less than a day in CLSS.

I ate dinner at Missy's thursday, and then at a Mexican joint on Friday with Missy,Kate,Erin, and Cassie. Crashed on the couch, and woke up early and drove 160 miles down to Steve's place in Mariposa,Ca. Not alot to say about Mariposa except that you can leave your cell phone at the Merced city limits, because once you hit Cathy's Valley you will have no signal. Anyways I drove back to Rancho tonite and have ended up crashing here again, and hangin out on Jerry Seinfeld's computer since he is out partying. Tommorrow is a new day and another day closer to gettin this show on the road. Until next time..........(props to my boy Kramer)

A car I will never buy because it is a piece of junk

But hey a rental car is a rental car. But this car personifies inside and out everything that is wrong with American car manufacturers. Piss poor functionality, design, and workmanship. I could talk for days about whats wrong with the Chevy Cobalt but allow me to sum it up very briefly. It is a piece of crap. Took this pic on my way back from Steve's house in Mariposa.
